While I have made no progress with pretty much anything, I did however manage to get a new computer and a new phone. The phone is a cheeeeep Nokia 6267 and you can see the specs of the computer by using the left-hand navigation. There's still some work to be done on the cooling of the hottest units (HDDs are at unacceptable 60-70'C) but the overall impression of the new resources has been positive. Even watching HD content is possible now. I should get a job. Feel free to donate a better CPU.

Rightey-o , I got some of the file upload services listed, that's by far not all of them, so feel free to send me updates so I can create a more comprehensive comparison. You can see the list here. Yes, I do intend to add the link to the sidebar menu as well, but since the way Google Pages handles pages, I have to update every page for the changes to take effect. I will deal with that later.

Allright, I haven't updated for a "while" now. Been kinda busy with the army and all that. But no worries, I haven't forgotten this, I have some mental todo-list figured out:

Also: only half of the army time left! woho!

So, what have I been doing the past 4 or 5 months? Escaping reality. I graduated from high school and have been basically slacking off ever since. I could have gotten a job, I have a driver's licence, but I didn't. I could have exercised, but I didn't. I could have studied programming, but I didn't. Instead, I spent all my days at my computer, watching anime, chatting with friends. Now the reality has caught up on me. I should apply for some special army training, before I'm leaving for army, next monday 9.7.2007. This is the last chance to have a say on what they train me for. Also I should apply to Helsinki University or Techical University. I have no idea which one I'm going to send the papers to, nor do I yet know if they let me in Technical University.

I StumbledUpon a very cool game the other day, Cyber Nations. You can create your own nation pretty much anywhere in the world, manage all aspects of it, defend it, attack and trade with other nations. I'm still new to this game but it seems very comprehensive. Sure, some aspects have been simplified, but the game is a nice addition to my daily web activities. I suggest you check it out.

Actually this happened a few days ago, but the school ended recently and we, the last year students, had a party there, during school hours, as has been the tradition. We threw candy (which tasted like coughdrops, btw.) and drove with a truck to different elementary schools to throw more candy at them. Back in our high school, we made a disco of our classroom and made a mess of the whole building. Here's a video (.swf) of our biology teacher furiously trying to exit the computer lab with the door tied shut with a garbage bag. Yes, that IS Boten Anna playing on the background, so loud it shook the windows. Apologies for the poor video quality, it was taken with a cell phone and converted to swf. A few more pics here, here, here, here and here. And here is another video, taken on the previous night as we were "decorating" the school. The staircase is covered in plastic so you have to crawl under it, there are random stuff written on the walls like "The root of everything is Sveaborg ferry", "Aus-vitsi" (deliberate typo on Auschwitch) etc. Added a page about online antivirus scanners.

A weird idea kept me from falling asleep a few nights ago. Today I managed to make a quick sketch of it and hopefully it doesn't bother me anymore. It's about magnets in jell-o feet being attracted to magnets on road, so when the torso is moved, the legs seem to do a walking motion. Scan of the sketch here. Sorry for my bad handwriting ^_^

I installed a new hard drive on my laptop and put Knoppix on the lappy. As the Knoppix-installer script isn't exactly stable, there were some complications to get root work in KDE mode. luckily someone had encountered the problem before me and a team of experts solved the problem. I am extremely pleased with the potential of this system. With this machine I will gather valuable knowledge of the Linux environment and see it's abilities, learn to use the programs etc, so when Microsoft ends support for XP, I can simply put some Ubuntu or some other hot Linux distro on my desktop, as I have already gained the knowledge needed to operate it.

Aight, well, it's been a month since last time, but I've been busy. Hell, not really, I just installed Windows XP 3 times, prepared for the coming A-levels and other exams, and.. well.. hum.. slept and was the usual lazy-ass I always am ^_^. I have been trying to revive my Omnibook XE3B laptop, which has a broken CPU fan and a broken HDD (it rattles). I was hoping I could buy a new CPU fan but they all cost at least 50€ + postage 25€ from the ends of the world... Found a £10 fan from eBay, but it required a credit card just to bid -_-, so now my only hope is to apply some lubricant to the existing fan to make it roll smoooooootherrrr.... Added some webcomics and will add even more, once I remember all of them. Also added a bunch of new FREE software to the Links section. I need to get out more.

I felt rich and bought new earphones (Philips SHE2850) and 2 new movies (All Quiet on the Western Front (1979) and Submerged). I haven't been sleeping so well lately, but I was kind of hoping it would get fixed by itself... Added Giveaway of the Day ticker to the front page.
